More great pics from our summer fly fishing trip

Another great weekend of fall still water fly fishing. Too many to count. Not only was the fishing outstanding we also go to see an osprey take a trout out of the lake, a bear cross our path, a coyote on side of the road and some big horn sheep grazing. Amazing!

First day secret fly was the dark green olive black bead head micro leech. Second day was much slower at the start but once we put on a micro leech with a metallic blue bead head in black with some red and blue tinsel, it was game over. Couldn’t keep the fish off. Of course Shannon lands the three largest. Nothing really big but always fun to catch fish in the dozens each day.

imageWas getting into some fish until the fly rod broke in wind storm that created a four foot chop in the water.

Forgot to post a sturgeon trip.

Unger with his first sturgeon. Unfortunately the larger one got away after pulling my boat in a complete circle against the tide.

A better than expected day

Started off the summer holidays hitting one of our favourite local lakes.

Ended up hooking into a brook, a bull and a rainbow trout all on the same day.

Sturgeon Fishing

A fantastic day on the Fraser. 15 sturgeon hooked an 13 landed.

Must have been the racoon hat and oilers shirt.
