Pinks on the Squamish
31 07 2017You might be worried that something is wrong since I haven’t posted in a while. Truth be known its just been really busy taking the kids on camping trips and hanging out in Naramata. In July, caught some small rainbows in Manning Park on Lightening Lake which was fun. Nothing big but its always fun to dry fly fish.
After that we headed to Nicola Lake and caught some Kokanee and rainbows. To me this lake is totally under rated. In Naramata I tried to fish but the wine on the dock prevented me from doing so.
So here is the latest. Fished the Squamish on Friday but water was the highest I have ever seen it and I don’t think it will be going down soon. Between two of us hooked into two pinks. Only two we saw hooked.
Looking forward to some more pinks on the fly but in the meantime stay tuned as I am heading out for some sturgeon action in a few days.

Just another day on the Fraser.
7 07 2017Took some work friends out on the boat last night to try our luck.
Ended up landing three. Seems like the incoming tide just before the evening high is the best time.

Sturgeon fishing the fraser
5 07 2017Headed out last night for a sturgeon trip on the Fraser. Hit the secret spot and within ten minutes landed a four footer. The next fish was a double header which one broke off. The one landed was over six ft. By the end of the night we landed nine fish and broke off two.

20th badger lake classic derby
12 06 2017
This years derby consisted of 27 guys. Weather was not very favorable which made the fishing tough. In fact it snowed a bit on Saturday morning. Chironomid fishing was slow and the guys dragging leeches did a bit better. In the end rookie braden won with a 20 inch 2.11 lb fish. Only one weighed in since all fish caught were under 20 inches. Well done braden!

Tunkwa weekend.
29 05 2017Couldn’t ask for better weather. Between four guys on sat and three on Sunday a lot of fish caught. Although nothing big it was a fantastic weekend for weather, strike indicator fishing and great practice for the derby weekend.
