Hit a Merrit lake this last Saturday and had a blast. Fishing was slower but still managed to get into a few. Mark landed this nice Fraser valley fish.

Onion Lake

15 09 2021

Yearly fishing trip with my son took us to Ruddicks Ranch/Onion Lake. Last time i was here I had one of my best fishing trips ever. This trip didn’t disappoint. 45 fish caught in two days but only small ones. Great time fishing with my son.

Lillooet River spring fishing

15 09 2021

Last year got to hit the upper Pitt River. This spring hit the Lilooet River. Expecting great things but fishing was slow. Caught some nice cutties early in the morning and Brian ended up landing a nice bull trout at the end of the trip.

Birthday fishing trip to a local lake

On my birthday got to hit a local lake for amazing fishing. Rainbows and bulls were caught. In fact 66 fish caught in total for one day between the two of us. Light olive green rabbit strip leech was the ticket.

Cariboo 2021

18 08 2021

This years 10th Cariboo trip (although we didn’t hit the Cariboo on a couple of summers) did not disappoint. 7 guys for 7 days fishing followed by a few of us continuing on for a couple of more days to explore. We river fished for a few days before water temperatures got to hot and managed to spend the rest of the week exploring some lakes in the area.

Fishing was really good this year even though temperatures were high. The beauty about this part of BC is that it may hit 32 degrees in the day but the mornings can bring 4 degree temperature.

Saw a herd of elk, foxes, bears (one was brown but not sure if it was a grizzly as it moved away quickly when it saw me).

As usual our friends in the Cariboo put up with us for the week living with them during our fishing trip just adds to the experience. Hard to believe its over and I guess this means the calendar countdown starts again for another year.

Nothing beats catching wild trout in moving water on the dry fly but I have to admit i did put on a strike indicator for a day and fished perdigon nymphs which was very successful.
