Courtney Lake

12 05 2015

No doubt that there are big fish in Courtney Lake. 12 fish all landed by Mark while i get skunked…go figure. The weather was fantastic at plus 20 degrees and hardly a wind. Fish were deep in the 15-20 ft range.

Biggest one was the first one Mark landed that was just under four lbs but he was confident there would be many more so no picture was taken. The one in the picture was probably the third largest. All caught on chironomids and may fly nymph patterns.

At one point there was an ant hatch that resulted in a boiling of very large fish coming to the surface like sharks.

Another fly fisherman trolling micro leeches also did quite well on a greeny brown pumpkin head.

Good times!IMG_9725 IMG_9727 IMG_9726 IMG_9724 IMG_9721 IMG_9722 IMG_9723
