A fantastic day on the Fraser. 15 sturgeon hooked an 13 landed.

Must have been the racoon hat and oilers shirt.

Another great derby.

Fishing was spectacular on this weekend. Although there were not a lot of chironomids coming off the lake, our boat managed to hook into 35 rainbows in a matter of a day and a half with the largest being a 3.5lber.

Most of our fish were caught on micro leeches in yellowish green gold bead heads. Mark and Doug’s boat landed about the same amount chironomid fishing with small rootbeer coloured chironomids.

First weekend…three guys and only one fish landed.

Mark goes the next weekend and lands a monster rainbow 12+ lbs?

This years derby takes us back to Hatheume Lake Resort for yet another consecutive year. Last years group was the largest at 31 guys. As you may recall, 2015 was a lot slower than the previous 2014 year but this years predictions are looking good. Teddy took first place in 2015.

Lots of snow. Water looked great and ran into a lot of fly fisherman but no luck for us. Great day to throw fly and scout river out for Feb-March.
