Boobies, chironomids and micro leeches are the focus right now!

Every year since the 90’s when my uncles first took me to the Thompson I have fished this amazing river. Since it has closed to winter fishing my fishing cycle has not been the same. Here is kirby with one of the last ones.

Just a pic from the past showing a Shuswap lunker. Sometimes big lakes produce big fish and varied species. This trip consisted of about a half a dozen big ones including pike minnow, Kokanee, spring salmon, and lakers. Surprisingly all in the shallows in the summer! Of course we were not strike indicator fishing but trolling buck tails and lures behind sinking lines but it was still fun. For this type of fishery you have to hold on to your rod or make sure it is in a secure holder! Trust me!
Had lots of luck on the boobies last season so gearing up with some new recipes.

Next project- just got the old rebel re-glassed, now new graphics, trim and transom plates. Will be ready for the spring. Was going to get rid of the old boy but realized it was hard to find a 10ftx52 inch flat bottom. Plus I like the quietness of the Fiberglass compared to aluminum. Can’t wait to fish it in spring.
