Managed to take a day off work and try out the new switch rod I bought in preparation for a Pyramid Lake and Truckee River trip coming up in November:
Although most rivers are closed to targeting chum we hit a local flow in search of coho. Although we didn’t get into any coho we did manage to land a bunch of chum as a by catch. Trust me I did not want to catch these big brutes on my 7wgt!
Nonetheless, the rod, reel and line feels good and I am now ready to hit Reno and try my luck at catching some big browns and Lahotan cutties which are the largest in the world.
Stay tuned.
