Every year one of my favourite days is spending my birthday with my kids. This year they entertained me with spending the day boating, beaching and bullhead fishing.

Good times!

Due to circumstances out of my control this years spring fishing was a bust. But the last two weekends managed to hit a local favourite that produces lots of smaller fish. Love the constant action of bobbing indicators dangling chironomids or what ever you have for that matter. Fish were biting.

Haven’t been able to get out much on the lakes and rivers for fly fishing so my go to lately has been sturgeon fishing to fix the itch. Three different trips produced 18 sturgeon. All caught in the same area just minutes from my back yard. Of course not all is positive. We did get skunked on two other days. Largest was about 6.5 ft.
