After being skunked for almost 14 consecutive fishing derbies, Elcombe decided to spend a day in solitude on Kentucky Lake near Merritt to break his dreaded curse. As we all know, only two things really get the Kirbmeister upset…missing out on a fishing trip and not catching fish on a fishing trip. Fortunately for Elcombe, the stars lined up, the weather was great, there were no equipment malfunctions and his dynamite was obviously working because he managed to land up to twenty rainbows using green and black leeches. Nicely done Elcombe.
Jeff Grimshaw Classic 14th Annual
5 06 2012This years fishing trip took place at Hathueme Lake Resort off of the Coquihalla Hwy between Merritt and Kelowna. Although the forecast was for a wet weekend, the trip ended up being dry but cold and windy. Fishing was slower for most but two fish weighed in. Harry placing second with a 2.8 lber and Brad winning with his 22″ 3.9 oz rainbow.
Good times!
